5-22-20 Thoughts

I was reading in the Colossian letter this morning and the thought of DEAD & ALIVE took over my mind for a time.  Three awesome passages discuss that idea below.  We find here the necessity of a
BEGINNING that leads to AN ALIVE LIFE which leads to ETERNAL GLORY!
                                    CHRIST BECOMES MY LIFE!
Col 3:1-4    Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  2  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4  When
Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

“Raised up” Col 2:11-13    and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12  having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13   When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,

Rom 6:3-8    Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4  Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5  For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6  knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; 7  for he who has died is freed from sin. 8  Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

John 12:24-25    "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.  25  "He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal.

There is so much thinking here.  Our very lives and eternity are here. I’ll be thinking about this all day!   Please join me!

My Prayer:
Oh God of heaven, thank you for your eternal wisdom in dealing with us.  Help us to identify with the gift of your dear Son.  Thank you for life in him, help us to live in him.  We desire the glory of heaven with you Oh God.  We praise you for the beauty of great possibility.  We thank you for Jesus who is the maker of that possibility and we pray in his name         Amen
